My Christmas Message

This has been an extraordinary year with changes in lifestyle and travel that none of us expected or have experienced before. My hope and belief is that in the coming year things will improve and some form of normality will become a reality.

Christmas is a time for celebration with family and friends but this year will be so different. Many of us, due to the new restrictions, may well have had to change our plans as to where and with whom we would spend this special time. Yet I hope that through technology some celebrations will be possible with loved ones.

800 years ago Jupiter and Saturn aligned to create the Christmas Star bringing hope to the world and guiding the Shepherds and the Wise Men to the stable and to Jesus. On 21 December these two planets will again align and create the Christmas Star once more. Let us hope that this is a sign of hope for our nation and the whole world for better, healthier and peaceful times.

Christmas for me this year will be different. At home with a friend and my faithful hound, Henry. I would be delighted if you would share with us a glass of your favourite tipple at 12 noon on Christmas Day.

To everyone I wish you a Happy Christmas and a very good New Year.
